Our Mission
THE MISSION of this organization shall be the preservation and protection of life and property from and during such emergencies as may occur in Miami Township, Clermont County, Ohio;ALL MEMBERS are called upon to fulfill to the best of their ability, the mission of Miami Township Fire and Emergency Medical Services and the duties of a good emergency services member, abiding by the Constitutions and Laws of the United States of America and the State of Ohio, and the rules and regulations of Miami Township Fire and Emergency Medical Services.
The Miami Township Fire and Emergency Medical Service, located in Clermont County, Ohio, is the branch of township operations providing fire, rescue, and emergency medical response. Miami Township Fire/EMS employs over 60 full-time employees supplemented by a dynamic group of part-time and volunteer personnel. A majority of our personnel work a 24 / 48 hours shift system where they are on-duty for 24 hours then are off-duty for 48 hours. The other full-time staff are administrative, working normal business hours.
All personnel are required to be cross-trained to a minimum State of Ohio EMT and State Certified Firefighter. Additionally, all full-time personnel are required to complete an intense Fire Academy course, and most employees are Ohio Paramedics. We also employ an administrative assistant at our headquarters.
Miami Township Fire & EMS operates 4 stations, which are manned 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Our fleet consists of fire engines, a quint (a combination fire engine and ladder truck), advanced life support ambulances, a supervisor vehicle, a field fire suppression unit, a technical rescue unit, boats, and staff/utility vehicles.
Fire apparatus (engines and quint) are equipped with advanced life support medical equipment, a full complement of fire suppression gear such as hoses & ladders, plus rescue gear such as hydraulic cutters/spreaders, ropes, stabilization equipment, and saws.
The services provided by Miami Township Fire & EMS include fire and rescue response, emergency medical treatment and transport, fire safety inspections, proactive community health programs, community paramedicine public fire education (schools and businesses), fire hydrant maintenance, juvenile fire setter education and counseling, senior citizen safety programs, and CPR / first aid programs.
The number of calls for service responded to by our personnel has risen steadily as Miami Township has grown residentially and commercially.
