MIAMI TOWNSHIP BOARD OF TRUSTEES

SPECIAL MEETING

JUNE 12, 1996

The Miami Township Board of Trustees met in special session for the purpose of a Public Hearing of Case #419, on June 12,1996 at 7:30 PM at the Miami Township Civic Center. Chairperson Joseph Uecker called the meeting to order. The Pledge of Allegiance was given. Miami Township Clerk, Eric Ferry called the roll. Those in attendance were; Chairperson Joseph Uecker, Vice-Chairperson, Jean Schmidt and member Edwin Humphrey.

Chairperson Uecker opened the hearing on Case #419-Barnard,Inc.

Clerk, Eric Ferry read the Legal Notice of Hearing, the Clermont County Planning Staff Review, the Clermont County Planning Commission Report and the Miami Township Zoning Commission Decision.

The applicant, Mike Barnard presented his request for a zoning change from "B" Residential to "O" Office. Mr. Barnard answered questions from the Board.

Mr. Ferry called for Adjoining Property Owners for statements;

Dorothy Mowrey of 5865 Pleasant Hill Road addressed the Board voicing her concerns. She stated she did not want to stand in the way of progress, however, she hoped this change would enable her property to be hooked up to the sewage program. She was not pleased that her view will be blocked with the construction of an office building directly across from her property.

There were no other Adjoining Property Owners present.

Chairperson Uecker called for any person in attendance wishing to make a statement regarding Case #419 to come forward. There were no comments.

Clerk, Eric Ferry read communications regarding Case #419;

The residents of Morning Side Circle wrote to express their dismay at the possibility of their street becoming more commercialized.

Raymond and Ola Powell wrote to express their support of the zoning change.

Diane Jones expressed concern for a change in zoning on Wolfpen Pleasant Hill Road. She feels this will add to the traffic problems currently experienced on Wolfpen Pleasant Hill Road.

 

Chairperson Uecker declared the Public Hearing of Case #419 closed.

The Board discussed the change requested in relation to other changes that have taken place on Wolfpen Pleasant Hill Road or the area directly related to the road and the benefits of these changes.

 Jean Schmidt made a motion to approve the Zoning Board decision regarding Case #419. Ed Humphrey seconded the motion. Upon roll call, all voted "AYE".

 Ed Humphrey made a motion to hold a special meeting of the Board of Trustees on Wednesday, June 26,1996 at 7:30 PM ,tentative to Mr. Brash’s schedule, to meet with the Clermont County Office of Environmental Quality Department and the Miami Township Zoning Board of Appeals and any other township business that may come before the board. Jean Schmidt seconded the motion. Upon roll call, all voted "AYE".

With no other business to come before the Board, Chairperson Uecker adjourned the meeting at 8:37 PM.
